Susan Conceicao
Apu Ichama
Susan began her acting career as a professional child actress in New York City. Her most memorable role was that of Nikki Lee Blake in the Patty Duke Show. As an adult, she studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, and was involved in community theater in New York and New Jersey. Her plays included The Diary of Anne Frank, The Sisters Rosenzweig, the Vagina Monologues and more. Recent credits in Colorado include Radium Girls, Love Letters, Stu for Silverton and October Surprise. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to appear in La Llorona del Rio Rimac, and to be part of Arts in the Open.
Isabela Ezrré Deters
Mana Huchaq / Maria
Isabela is delighted to make her debut with Arts in the Open. She is an actor and singer originally from Aurora, Colorado, currently entering her senior year at the University of Northern Colorado, where she is pursuing a degree in musical theatre. Isabela has appeared in a range of productions at University of Northern Colorado, including Alyssa Greene in The Prom, Mona Lipschitz in Chicago, and a featured performer in the Miscast Cabaret. She would like to thank her Mother for being her biggest supporter and hopes you enjoy the show!
Jordan Hull
Felipillo / Medic
Jordan is delighted to be joining Arts in the Open for this production! Born in Denver and raised in the San Luis Valley, she wears many hats as an actor, voice actor, wig artist, and costume designer. She has appeared in a wide variety of productions across Colorado and has also worked behind the scenes on shows such as Arsenic and Old Lace at Creede Repertory Theatre and numerous productions with Su Teatro. Beyond the stage, her work in the local fashion industry has been published in Elite magazine.
Some of her recent stage credits include An Auraria Parable with DCPA Off-Center, Inheritance Kitchen with The Japanese Art Network, Airness with Bas Bleu, and October Surprise with OpenStage. She sends love and gratitude to her friends and family for their endless support.
Camilo Luera
Benavente
Camilo is excited to be making his Arts in the Open debut. Acting professionally since 2011, Camilo earned his BA in Theatre at MSU Denver. He has spent most of his professional acting career with Su Teatro (Zyana, Wolf at the Door, El Corrido del Barrio, and many many more!) and the former Wheat Ridge Theatre Company (10 Pin Alley, The Complete History of America Abridged). A lover of all things spooky, La Llorona is right up his alley and hopes you get your dose of the spooky season before Halloween!
Ethan Vlchek
Pizarro
A recent transplant from the Four Corners, Ethan is a fight and stunt specialist with an eye for villains. Originally hailing from Parker, Colorado he’s recently moved back to the front range, and is excited to delight and terrify!
Lauren Michelle Long
Director
Though no stranger to the stage as an actor, Lauren is thrilled and honored to make her directing debut with Arts in the Open! She has previously directed in children’s theatre and served as an assistant director both during college and with small Colorado theatre companies, working on micro plays and one-act scenes. With a passion for storytelling through live performance, Lauren is excited to bring this production to life with music, movement, and the creativity of this talented ensemble. In addition to directing, Lauren is a voice actor and media artist who designs merchandise for small businesses. As an actor, she has performed with companies across Colorado, including Su Teatro, The Agenda Theatre, Audacious Theatre, Vintage Theatre, Bowls with a Bard, The Three Leaches, and Flamboyán Theatre. She is also a teaching artist, sharing her love of art, dance, and theatre with children.
Mary Schaugh
Mentor Director
Mary is honored to be returning to the trail with Arts in the Open as mentor director for La Llorona del Río Rímac. Previously, Mary directed Alice in Wonderland, All I Really Need to Know I Learned from Being a Zombie, and The Three Little Pigs Vs. the Apocalypse.
For the last 20 years, Mary has directed productions throughout the U.S. spanning from opera to children’s theatre, and from Shakespeare to musical theatre. She is known for her collaborative and innovative directing style that focuses on engaging audiences in thought-provoking and immersive experiences. She enjoyed a tenure as the regional director for the national Murder Mystery Company, an interactive, live event with a rotating cast of actors, and gained the nation’s highest ratings. In addition to directing, Mary is an accomplished actor, opera singer, and improvisor with credits throughout the U.S. and abroad.

Tess is pleased to return to Arts in the Open's "backstage" as the stage manager for La Llorona. Previously you may have seen Tess acting in Rumpelstiltskin and Other Tricksters this past summer, or in Wicked Wanderings last fall. Please enjoy La Llorona!.

Ammon is humbled to have joined the cast of Rio Rímac with Arts In The Open. Previous credits of Costume & Makeup Design have been The WhorrShopp: A “Little Shop” Parody, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Laughter on the 23rd Floor. Recent performance credits: Anselmo (Man of La Mancha), Kandi-Stripper Ensemble & Mayor (Rock of Ages), Mrs. George (Mean Gays: A Parody), and both as Ensemble & Production-Costume Designer for 9 to 5.

Miguel Muñoz
Playwright
Miguel is a playwright, actor, and University of Northern Colorado graduate residing in Washington. His writing credits include October Surprise, which was also his directing debut with OpenStage Theater, and Lati-NO!. Miguel was commissioned to write the 2024 TYA musical Familia de Flamingos for American Stage in Florida. As an actor, he’s appeared in Little Theatre of the Rockies’ The Quest for Don Quixote and OpenStage’s SWEAT.
